Reports To: Clinical Supervisor, Here Now Health

About Here Now Health

Here Now Health is the first virtual behavioral health company built exclusively for children and families impacted by the child welfare system. We serve Medicaid members eligible due to their foster status, including children in foster care, adopted youth, young adults aging out, and those involved in family preservation or juvenile justice.

Our care model delivers trauma-informed, high-touch mental health services that prioritize consistency, trust, and accessibility in systems where those qualities are too often missing. Our mission is to make consistent, early, and preventative care the standard for youth and young adults impacted by child welfare — reducing crisis escalation, improving family stability, and creating measurable value for states and Medicaid partners.

Role Summary

As an Associate Virtual Therapist with Here Now Health, you will provide compassionate, trauma-informed mental health care to youth ages 5–26 and their caregivers. You will support clients navigating instability, system involvement, and complex trauma, often across multiple placements or life transitions.

This role includes structured clinical supervision toward independent licensure and is designed to support both strong client outcomes and meaningful professional growth within a relational, mission-driven care model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide virtual one-on-one therapy to youth and caregivers using evidence-informed, trauma-focused modalities
  • Conduct clinical assessments and contribute to collaborative, measurement-based care plans
  • Build relational continuity across transitions, supporting clients through placement or life changes
  • Partner with non-clinical Care Advocates to coordinate wraparound support and access to services
  • Offer caregiver support sessions to strengthen family stability and outcomes
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation aligned with Medicaid and telehealth standards
  • Participate in weekly supervision, team meetings, and required trainings
  • Provide support during moments of escalation or crisis in alignment with trauma-informed care practices
  • Engage in peer consultation and cross-functional collaboration with clinicians and care team members

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Low caseloads designed to prioritize depth, trust, and sustained engagement
  • The opportunity to serve youth and caregivers often excluded from traditional care models, including those without stable placements or consistent caregivers
  • Dedicated clinical supervision and mentorship toward full licensure
  • A team culture where lived experience in foster care, kinship care, or system involvement is valued and welcomed
  • An integrated care model connecting therapy with caregiver support, care coordination, and advocacy

What You Need

  • Master’s degree in social work
  • Active provisional or associate-level license in Virginia (LMSW) — clinical supervision provided.
  • Experience providing therapy or support to children, adolescents, or families (internship experience welcomed)
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive care
  • Interest in serving youth impacted by foster care, adoption, family preservation, or juvenile justice systems
  • Comfort working in a virtual environment and using telehealth platforms
  • Commitment to relational, equitable, and person-centered care
  • Ability to complete background checks required by Medicaid and/or child welfare systems

Strong plus: bilingual Spanish/English, multi-state eligibility, or prior Medicaid experience

Licensure Growth

Here Now Health provides clinical supervision toward independent licensure, included as part of the role. We support licensure advancement and professional development aligned with state requirements.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Full-time, salaried role based on a 35-hour workweek

  • Salary range: $50,000–$60,000 annually, based on licensure stage, experience, and relevant expertise

  • Salary includes 22 hours per week of required client-facing (billable) care, plus supervision, documentation, and non-client clinical responsibilities to total 35 hours

  • Associate therapists may have the opportunity to provide up to 5 additional client-facing hours per week beyond the required 22 hours, compensated at $40/hour, with approval

    • Up to an additional $200 per week, and

    • Up to an additional approximately $10,000 per year, if consistently worked

  • Availability requirement:

    • 20 hours per week after 3:00 PM on weekdays and/or on Saturdays (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) to support youth and families during peak demand hours

  • 100% remote; work hours follow the therapist’s local time zone

We’d Especially Love to Hear From You If

  • You have lived experience in foster care, kinship care, or as a system-impacted caregiver

  • You value strong supervision and thoughtful mentorship

  • You thrive in a mission-driven, startup-style environment

  • You believe consistent, relationship-based care can change outcomes for youth and families
